Good evening, everyone!

Fall is the most fun season to play around with your style (although, I can’t dress like this too often since Texas autumns are merely extensions of summer).   I love the variety of combinations of layers and all the textures. This outfit centers around the scarf and how I tied it up to look like a bow, but the layering of the sweater with the jacket makes this outfit more fresh and cool.

For all my friends and family, I am having a great time in college. I’m especially loving my classes, professors, socials, and how much time I have in between everything to relax. I was terribly homesick for a few days, but I’m finally getting into the swing of things.

Hello, everyone!

It’s been a crazy past week, so updating this blog was so hard and I apologize profusely for it. With all of the first year events and activities, I’ve been incredibly tired. However, college is such a fun, new experience. It was all pretty overwhelming the first day, but I feel more at ease especially since the student body and faculty are so welcoming and helpful (I frequently get lost even on my college’s relatively small campus).  However, since being here, I am really appreciating my family and friends back home and am missing them so much. Hopefully we can all meet up soon and catch up on all our college experiences.

Back to some fall fashion to get us excited for school! Jewel tones are big this fall, and I love the bright, vibrant teal color of my top. It’s nice to pair very bold colors with more muted, neutral colors which was why I paired the top with the understated tweed pencil skirt.

Hello, lovelies!

As you are reading this post, I am moving into my dorm at college. Excited? Yes! Nervous beyond belief? Definitely so. I’m writing this before I go, so stay tuned for my thoughts on this brand new experience.

I know I styled this skirt previously, but I decided to transition it more toward the fall season. The combination of the coral and navy blue and the mixing of patterns makes this a quirky but put-together back to school outfit. Of course, swap heels for more practical walking shoes if you’re going to be running all around campus (or if you’re as klutzy as me). Just remember: wear something you feel the most confident and comfortable in, and fashion is fun!

Good morning, everyone!

Keeping my promise of hanging out with those I love most, I hung out with my family and friends all last week, and I realize how lucky I am to have all of them in my life. Whether it be exploring Walmart at ten at night or just laughing over food, I always have the best time with y’all. This week has been really hard since we’re all separating, but just know that I love you guys and I can’t wait to hear about all your adventures!

Shout out to the cool kids from Fuddruckers (Spoorthi, Kevin, Leah, Alex, Hasun, Samantha, and Meeta), the best people in choir (Mr P., Abi, Marissa, Paul, Katie, Paige, Ronald, and Thomas), and Aweeeeeeeeena (Alina hehe)!

Dotted to Perfection

Hello, everyone!

I know, I know. I have a polka dot addiction to add to my stripe addiction. It’s a problem. However, I could not deny this dress with the cute rope drawstring and the perfect blue color. Isn’t it just so cute? It’s so easy to dress this up or down depending on the accessories. I opted for a more casual look with my bow necklace and the simplicity of my earrings. Just wear some comfy flats, and you are ready for class!

Pleats Please

Good morning, lovelies! Happy Monday!

It’s down to the last full week of summer for me, and I am both terribly nervous and excited (but mostly nervous). I have been spending as much time with my family and my friends (posts about some crazy adventures later), but seriously, where did the summer go? C’est la vie. Here’s to a great end to the summer!

I keep thinking that my posts will finally transition into fall trends, but then I realize how scorchingly hot Texas is and I’m not so sure anymore. I’m fairly certain that I will be posting summer-looking outfits until the end of October, but I’m working on some more back-to-school outfits this week.

That Forever 21 skirt is one of my favorite pieces in my closet (probably because it’s so versatile and looks more expensive than it really is), and surprise, surprise, it’s striped. It’s an addiction. This outfit would be a cute ensemble for back to school, switching the heels for flats and tossing on a lightweight cardigan.

Thanks for reading this post! Hope you’re having a great summer! Enjoy it while you can!

Prim & Proper

Hello, everyone!

I am finally getting used to styling bangs. Thank goodness. They are really growing on me (literally, haha). I’m really lazy when it comes to hair, so I don’t know how long they will look like this.

I was gifted the chino pants, but I had trouble styling them for awhile because of how structured yet loose fitting they were (they definitely don’t fit like skinny jeans). I found a happy balance for them with the figure shaping and girliness of the peplum top. Just to make this outfit a little more fun and not so neutral, I wore my trusty red cross body for a pop of color.

Top: Zara

Pants: J.crew

Necklace: Loft

Shoes: Thrift

Bag: J.Crew

{ Back to School } Must Haves

Good morning, everyone! It’s that time of the year again: new books, new schedules, and reuniting with friends. It’s time to hit the books again! Although it’s not fun to say farewell to summer, going back to school is one of the most exciting events of the year. I know some of y’all are staring incredulously at your screen now at my optimism, but seriously, school is fun! To kick off the school year, I decided to pick out some of my fashion must haves to give some inspiration for your own back-to-school shopping.

Orange is the New Black

Happy weekend, everyone!

This outfit is pretty fun with the bold pants and the animal print (giraffe?) top. The pants are actually a bright orange, but they are translating pretty red on camera. Either way, I’m excited to style them for fall since warm tones are quintessential fall colors. This outfit is perfect for transitioning into fall because it’s so easy to swap the heels for boots and add a lightweight jacket.
