Tweed Queen

 IMG_9373

 Hello, lovelies!

When I’m writing these posts, the hardest thing to decide is the title. My friends have even pointed out how lame my titles are (haha, thanks, guys), but they don’t help when I ask (again, thaaanks, guys). I usually just try to rhyme or use alliteration. Ooops.

This is another outfit that my aunt shot for me a couple of weeks ago (Thank you again, Bac Ngoc!). Tweed is such a cool texture to work with during the colder months, and I’ve had this jacket for months, and I have been waiting to finally wear it. The colors are fun and fresh despite the classic cut of the jacket, and with all the intricate details on the sleeves and zippers, it’s just perfect for a dressier night out even with minimalistic accessories.

Good afternoon, everyone!

Recently, my aunt helped me out by being my impromptu photographer for the day. Thanks, Bac Ngoc, for spending the day with me and taking these lovely pictures!

I visited home after what seems like forever, and I got to see some of my favorite people in the world, including my family and my friends. Of course, Spoorthi and I ate out with our good friend, Anisha, and then went shopping where we bumped into H-zuni and his “cult crew” (hehehehe, hi, guys!). Haha, it’s so funny to observe guys shopping. After all that, I basically spent my night with Alina, Meeta, and Marguerite. My friends and I joke that it almost feels like we don’t go to different schools because it seems like we’re always finding some way to keep in touch and “hang out” (Google Hangouts are our best friends).

Art and Architecture

IMG_9099 IMG_9165

Hello, lovelies!

These pictures were taken at University of Texas during my trip a couple of weeks ago. Like I had said in my other post about Austin, my dad took me around to the places he had spent most of his time in, and I gotta say how gorgeous the buildings are and how much I enjoyed being there. My jacket actually kind of matched the color scheme of the buildings, haha. Man, I never realized how much I love architecture until now because it’s all I want to talk about. It’s the architect’s daughter within me.

Street Smart

Street Smart | Forever 21 Vest, Nordstrom Scarf

Good morning, everyone!

First of all, so sorry for the delayed post! I had been busy all weekend with being home and doing homework, but I am back now. Hopefully, this won’t happen again. Sorry, again!

It’s kind of hilarious how a little drop in temperature will cause an influx of girls in scarves, boots, and sweaters in Texas. It’ll be only seventy degrees, and we’re all wearing our winter coats acting like it’s freezing out. Hey, I’m guilty of it too as denoted by my choice of outfit this past weekend (though, in my defense, it was definitely colder than seventy degrees out). I really love this casual, “cool” style.

I recently went out with my friends, Alex and Victoria, and we all tried this sushi place near our high school. Haha, interesting food, stories, and laughs were exchanged, and I couldn’t have asked for a better rainy night. Thanks for taking me out on a “date”, guys. Hahaha.

Craving Cranberry

Good morning, lovelies!

“You, Lizzie McGuire, are an outfit repeater.” -Kate from the Lizzie McGuire Movie

That quote comes to mind every time I reach for pieces that I know that I have worn recently aka this Mango blouse. Hey, I love it, and I’m going to get my money’s worth. Outfit repeating is not a crime, but it’s not hard to wear pieces in different ways. I paired my favorite blouse with this cranberry blazer and khaki shorts, giving off a more dressy vibe than the last look with this top.

Adventures in Austin

Good morning, lovelies!

This past weekend I was in Austin to visit some of my best friends from high school at University of Texas, and they basically made an awesome weekend even more awesome. I had the opportunity to explore downtown Austin, meet some new friends, and spend a wonderful time with my lovely friends. It’s so funny how despite not seeing each other for awhile, we still fall back into our friendship as if we had never separated. If y’all are reading this blogpost (HI!), thank you so much for showing me around Austin and being the best friends I could ask for. I will be visiting again soon (and we shall take allllll the pictures because I am incompetent and forgot my camera)! I miss y’all. #thesoftestofgrunges

Before I left Austin, I made sure to schedule some time to take some pictures around the beautiful campus. My dad actually went to UT, so he was showing me around nostalgically. Maybe it’s the architect’s daughter in me that really appreciates beautiful buildings and design, but I really love UT’s campus (especially the turtle pond which is where these pictures are taken). I believe that turtles are my spirit animals.

Patterned Pride

IMG_8839

Hello, everyone!

There is just something so cool about mixing patterns (as you can tell by my latest blogposts), and it’s just so fun. You wouldn’t think that pairing this fluid, flow-y top would go well with these quirky polka dot shorts, but somehow it works.

I’m currently getting over a cold after hanging out with my best friends in Austin, so please excuse the delay in this blogpost. There will be posts about all my adventures as soon as I conquer some midterms and feel less miserable. Stay healthy, everyone!

Mixed Mediums

IMG_8632 IMG_8649

Hello, everyone!

I think we’re all guilty of falling into a monochromatic rut of blacks and greys. It’s just so easy to look stylish even in all black if you play with different textures. It’s hard to see in these pictures, but my pants actually have velvet polka dots (yes, the obsession continues). I really love mixing patterns and textures, and it’s a perfect way to make an ordinary outfit fun.
