Where Have I Been?

Hello, world! It’s been awhile, I know, but shoutout to those who are reading this: You are awesome, and I love you.

This has proven to be a really busy semester, and instead of trying to document each and every moment like I have been doing in the past, I guess I’ve just been wanting to enjoy it all. Despite being such an exhausting semester thus far, it also has to be my most fun – I’m learning so much with the company of some awesome friends. There’s nothing like frantically studying for Physical Chemistry and Genetics with your good friends while simultaneously listening to the “Turnt Up” playlist on Spotify (listen to it, you won’t regret it). This past week was just the start of (many) midterms.  It’s so easy to feel overwhelmed, but I have been less stressed and more grateful. Maybe it’s because I feel more at ease with myself, but I’ve just been happy. Happy to enjoy the little things (sunsets and sunrises are my jam). Happy to smile and find joy in every day. Happy to do what I love – studying and learning. Happy to even stretch myself out of my comfort zone (more on that later)

I mentioned before that I would shift this blog a little to fit my interests more now; while fashion will always have a special place in my heart, right now I want to spread happiness and joy through less superficial means. I’m not saying that I will not be having any more fashion posts (because that is not true), but I will be posting more about my thoughts and things that I find joy in (and that I hope you will too).

Thank you again for those who have stuck with me even through my unannounced hiatus. If you want to stay updated more, I am more active on my Instagram!

Perfect Pleats

Ann Taylor has a special place in my closet, not just because of how much I love the quality of their pieces but also how my mom and I bond over and share these pieces. I’m so lucky that she passed her older Ann Taylor pieces to me (and I can wear them all the time without looking outdated). I recently picked up this shirtdress from Ann Taylor despite knowing I did not really need another dress in my closet, but I’m so glad I bought it: it’s so comfortable for the summer (and would be cute for layering with cardigans once the weather gets cooler) and it’s the sweetest shade of pink that gives a burst of color to my day. The only downside to this dress is that it tends to wrinkle, which is not a huge deal, but it can get annoying.

Perspective

Hello, world!

Cue Eminem because guess who’s back? I’m back again for the summer. I’m finally done with my sophomore year, and I’m back home to enjoy some moments of bliss with family and some old friends.

I always seem to say that I’m busy, but this semester for me was physically and mentally exhausting. This semester taught me just how precious every moment is. Here I was, worried about a single test, and I realized how lucky I was to be worried. While it’s easy to get caught up in the details, I personally realized how important it is to just take a step back and put things back into perspective.  I am so very lucky to have had a semester full of stress, tears, and a whole lot of laughs with some great friends by my side. Especially before and during my finals, I am so thankful for y’all (and thanks for letting me bother you and buy your meals during my last few days on campus LOL).

More fashion posts are on the way. I’m so excited to get back into the swing of things again.

Chin Up

Hello, world!

I haven’t updated in awhile, and I am literally in the midst of some hectic weeks (including finals week), but I just wanted to write a little post to spread some positive vibes because I know how the end of the semester can be. The stress is piling up, but remember: there are so many great things ahead like how classes are almost over and how summer is just around the corner. No matter what you’re struggling with and stressing out about, you’re going to get through this. Keep your chin up! For those in school, good luck on your finals!

Always Wandering in Austin

Hello, world!

If you follow me on Instagram, you already know I was in Austin last weekend. There’s something really special about Austin. I always seem to visit at least once a semester, and every time, my experience is always unique and leaves me wanting to visit again. There’s always something different to do, and I was blessed to have been able to hang out with some friends from high school and to make new friends (if y’all are reading, hi!) that weekend. We explored South Congress, and I ate way too much Cream Whiskers (totally worth it though).

Looking Back at 2014

Good morning, world!

Happy New Year! This is incredibly belated, but I just wanted to look back at the past year in outfits. I started this blog as sort of a journal where I could remember outfits I wore and the adventures I had in them. I finished my second and third semesters of college this year, and I had the wonderful opportunity to conduct research at my university. This was the year where I started my youtube channel and unknowingly loved to touch my hair in my pictures, haha. There are so many reasons to be thankful in 2014, but instead of reminiscing and thinking back on all of them, it’s time to move forward and welcome 2015. Thank you, 2014. Hello, 2015.

Blurry Pictures, Christmas Lights, and Good Company

Hello, world!

Just to kick off the start of finals, it’s a tradition at my university for the faculty to open their homes nearby campus and offer lots of holiday treats. I attempted to take pictures to blog for you guys, but I could not figure out the settings on my camera, so lots of the pictures are terribly blurry (Though, some of them turned out pretty cool though with all the Christmas lights!). It was such a fun night though; with friends from dance and my roommate, I had too much fun acting like I knew how to use my camera and eating all the treats.

What I’ve Been Up to Lately | August – September 2014

Good evening, world!

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, so posts have been slowly sadly. I decided as a way to keep in touch with y’all, I wanted to share some snapshots of my life including my first day of class selfie (top, middle) with my roommate (as you can tell, I am waaaaay excited for organic chemistry II) and even my birthday, which was this past week. I’m not huge into celebrating my birthday, but I am so grateful for all the love (and food, especially donuts haha) I received from family, old, and new friends.

Thanks so much for reading and being so patient with me! Have a lovely weekend! c:
